What is the best fight pattern to make the best use of my energy?

Q. What is the best fight pattern to make the best use of my energy?
A.
A complete Cat Fight Pattern guide is in the works. You can attempt to find the best Cat Fight pattern for yourself using the Cat DPS Calculator or Cat DPS Simulator, since the best pattern will vary depending on gear and spec. Here are some general guidelines:

1. Shred is generally better than Claw
2. Rip is generally better than Ferocious Bite
3. Tiger's Claw is recommended only to be used as an opener with Ravage, or if you are badly geared for feral DPS.
4. Pre-1.12, finishing at 5 combo points is always better than at 4 combo points or less, even with Blood Frenzy. However, this is likely to have changed with the way finishers scales in 1.12 with different number of combo points. A study to look into this will soon be conducted
5. Rake is generally not recommended unless your gear is bad
Note: The above is obselete with 2.0.1 patch
A full complete study has not been made for 2.0.1 patch, but general concesus seems to be that the best option is to simply mangle all the way. This will change in 2.0.3 where Mangle starts to buff Shred, in which case the best sequence seems to be to Mangle when the debuff runs out, and Shred when the debuff is up.
Update for 2.0.3
Emmerald from Euro forums has provided a pretty good analysis of fight patterns http://www.gurgleblaster.net/forum/index.php?topic=167.0 giving the approximation:
734.1 - TF + Ravage + Mangle + 3 Shreds + FB (Burst)
707.2 - Ravage + Mangle + Shreds + FB (Burst)
700.7 - TF + Ravage + 4 Shreds + FB (Burst)
680.3 - Ravage + 4 Shreds + FB (Burst)
673.4 - TF + Ravage + 4 Mangles + FB (Burst, from Behind)
637.7 - 5 Shreds (with Mangle buff) + Rip (Sustained)
636.2 - TF + Pounce + Shred + 3 Mangles + FB (Burst)
633.9 - TF + Ravage + 4 Mangles + FB (Burst)
631.0 - Ravage + 4 Mangles + FB (Burst, from Behind)
604.8 - TF + Ravage + 4 Claws + FB (Burst, from Behind)
599.2 - Shreds + Rip with Mangles (Sustained)
591.9 - Ravage + 4 Mangles + FB (Burst)
586.5 - Ravage + 4 Claws + FB (Burst, from Behind)
568.2 - TF + Ravage + 4 Claws + FB (Burst)
555.9 - Ravage + 4 Claws + FB (Burst)
547.2 - 5 Shreds + Rip (Sustained)
538.2 - 5 Mangles + Rip (Sustained, from Behind)
519.3 - 5 Mangles + Rip (Sustained)
510.7 - 5 Shreds (with 2 TF) + Rip (Sustained)
454.1 - 5 Claws + Rip (Sustained, from Behind)
437.0 - 5 Claws + Rip (Sustained)
431.3 - 5 Claws (with 2 TF) + Rip (Sustained, from Behind)
414.7 - 5 Claws (with 2 TF) + Rip (Sustained)
218.0 - Auto-attack Only
This confirms the above recommendations. For maximum sustained, use shred while keeping the mangle debuff up, followed by rip.
