Excelent Money Drainer

World of Warcraft they say it's the best MMORPG for 2005 but how does it really rank up? From the makers of games such as Starcraft and Diablo II Blizzard presented World of Warcraft to be there best game yet. I did not choose to buy it right a way considering you had to pay per month to play it. I was one of those people who thought you shouldn't have to pay to play a game when you already have purchased it. Finally after a few months after it had been out I decided I might as well give it a shoot, maybe it really was that good.

After an afternoon of installing the game, I began to play, at first I noticed the graphics are really good. They stuck out in that cartoon-ish form. Creating a character felt like I was personally making him just for me, and no one else would be similar. As I entered the world (I had created a Dwarf) I noticed the snowy mountains were designed and drawn very nicely. I felt like I was actually in the world.

The sound was decent, it got repetitive though, but it never really annoyed me. It would make no difference if the sound were on or off.

After about an hour I was starting to like what I was experiencing there were so many quests and things I could run around and do. With the ability to have talents n skills there were many options on how I could do things and what I could collect, it was especially fun having a little rabbit follow me around after buying it for a massive amount of money…

Being a old player of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction though I found the game really, and I mean really slow paced, it took at least 15 minutes to walk from one city to the next with very few things I could do in between. At some points in the game I think I just put a heavy object on the walk command and went to get something to eat, came back and there I was still walking to the next city.

Another thing that kind of got me down was the fact that so many people just gathered around in one spot trying to sell things, it was more lag then I had ever experienced before. Those people were all the high level people who just wanted the best of everything, I remember them from D2, they wouldn't even talk to you just to say hi or anything. I found that regular people that just wanted to play the actual game were really friendly though. They would help me and others, and I would return the favor back to others when they needed it. It was a relief from other games to be able to have a relaxed game play without someone calling you a n00b, or telling you to go away because you weren't as good as they were. I find that in way to many other games that other people are way to cocky, they just like to mock people and show off their stuff.

As for the replay ability of this game I can't really say because just getting through the game a first time will take you like a year, due to the fact that you travel really slowly and there is just that many quests.

Story wise I did not really see any, its just at the beginning they give a good story telling you how that race got to were it is from where you begin your journey. After that though you just complete little tasks for everyone here or there, none of them really intertwine wit each other so it felt like I was on a wild goose chase. Going on a wild goose chase isn't all that bad though, it actually keeps you busy for hours at a time, probably the reason why they did that so they could charge you more and take more of your money while your trying to complete this game that you can only play online.

Final Thought~ It is a decent game but not for the price they charge you a month!

Rent or Buy? It's an online game only. Meaning you can't rent it, so either you buy it or you don't. If you got the spare time on your hands and you can afford it I would say buy it, if you don't got those 2 things then leave this game out of your way.
