Death Knight Runeforging Rune of Lichbane
Runeforging is considered the death knight equivalent of rogue poisons. By using a runeforge - which only exist in ebon hold, the death knight starting and trainer area - you can imbue your rune-weapon with an 'enchant' that lasts until changed. This provides very substantial passive combat bonuses to death knights, and you'll want to choose which runeforged-effect that will best compliment your playstyle.
These are the currently known effects that can be applied to your weapon through runeforging:
Rune of Cinderglacier
Affixes your rune weapon with a rune that has a chance to increase your Frost and Shadow spell damage by 10% for 15 sec. Modifying your rune weapon requires a Rune Forge in Ebon Hold.

Rune of Razor Ice:
Affixes your rune weapon with a rune that deals 1% of your weapon damage as frost damage on every attack, and causes the target to be vulnerable to frost damage. This vulnerability increases frost damage taken by the target by 1%, and stacks up to 5 times.
